Mom went to see Tony 'n' Tina's Wedding yesterday with her Red Hat ladies. Since it was a Red Hat function, mom dressed appropriately: Purple top, black skirt, red hat, red shoes, and purple and red scarf tied around her waist. Ladies and gentlemen, the millennium version of my grandmother. It was quite a sight. The thing about the hat is that ( Read more... )

a) how is tony and tina's (did your mom say??) i've been thinking about going.

b) i went to my parents this weekend and we went to 4:30 at huberts. There was an article about BandCamp in the buletin...nothing major, just that we had #19...case was the major director, 2 other directors from other school...cost, fun things, 5+hrs of playing...god it sounds like what he normally puts on the "solo contest" pamplet thingys (it just sounded so familiar) I guess he's trying to up the enrollment. Wait about 10 - 15 yrs and i'll send my kid =0)

a) She enjoyed it. I went while I was in college. I actually knew someone in the show! We played husband and wife in The Music Man several years earlier, and I think he remembered me. It's like going to a real wedding (i.e., there's the ceremony and food and dancing), but wackiness ensues. I think you'd like it.

b) I really don't know why enrollment was down so far, but it was fine. I think I almost like it better--there's a little more breathing room, and there's less people to keep track of. It was very odd to see empty bunks in the girls' dorm, though, considering that one year when we stuck six on the one side. Bah. Pinkeye and chiggers and mumps, oh my!

My mom actually types church bulletins. Today she told me that one of the typists was supposed to write something about roast chicken...and it became "roast children." Whoops. But that's why they have proofreaders. (Too bad they didn't leave it--the ad could have ended up on the Headlines segment of The Tonight Show.)
