In the bag

It's amazing that doing something as simple as addressing envelopes can make one tired. However, when you do it for seven hours, and you're standing, and you don't move from the spot for much of that time, well, it's not terribly pleasant. But I did finish addressing all the envelopes for the Harry Potter people. K was busy stuffing the ( Read more... )

Perhaps it's because your reserves prolly number more in the hundreds (we're at somewhere past 1500...) but corporate is actually being good this year and calling all reserves for us. Yay! Actually, "Jim Dale" will be calling them, but well... all the better. Most of the southern accented customer care reps haven't impressed me too much lately anyway. None of this flyer crap for us! And meanwhile, I'm attempting to singlehandedly realphabetize the store... which should take the next, oh, decade.

Also, we must get together soon. Much to share.

Our reservation total: 385. We have one person on our waiting list.
I already know that two of those reservations are wrong, as one was an employee double and one was a mall worker who has since moved out of state.

Jim Dale is doing the same thing for WB stores with lots of reservations, so nyah. :) But I know for a fact that at least one of our customers does not have a phone.

Good luck with alphabetizing. I personally should be doing my training stuff, but I haven't had time. And, we as a store are supposed to be rearranging the store (including moving the entire Fiction wall...AGAIN...because Spanish has to be in the back. Never mind that all of our Hispanic customers know where to go to find books En Espanol now).

Yes, you must tell me all about your 4th with a Ben. And, it sounds like more. Wanna go to Windmill Fest either Friday or Saturday? I promise it will be less crowded than Swedish Days (and the Taste, and definitely Summerfest).

Tomorrow (Friday) I must work from 1-9pm and Saturday from 9-6. If this week is anything like the last couple, you won't want to be near me Saturday night after work. I'm off Sunday and Monday though, if you have either of them off.

And yes, there is more. Oh yes. Just a few things to remind me to tell you about: butcher knife, "Mr. Pringle," the change lady, the obesity crisis, and Bud's money freak out.

Ha-ha, no. But I may be up for something Sunday, as long as it involves lots of sitting. And as long as I don't have to take A. home...wait...
*sigh*
Um, what's the rest of your week look like?
I'm just figuring it might be good to get together before Harry, but we'll see what happens.

And then I can tell you about my little kid audience and "The Rapist."
(This would be one of those times when I go back and forth about having children, and it causes me to lean towards "not.")

I'd be mad if you lived out here and didn't come to my store or Laura's (that would be her comment above this one). I think you've already mentioned that there aren't many bookstores right where you are, so that's cool. Do you know if any of your students read Harry?

We (that is, myself and the assistant manager) are planning on asking people if they want to reserve #7 when they pick up #6. You see, this list we are using is from about HP4. There are a number of former coworkers of mine on there. Anyway, the hope is that we can start a good-sized list of people, but ones that definitely want HP7 from us. We'll date the reservations as well so that we know they're good ones.
