Members only? Do I get a jacket?
There is one last band rehearsal this Monday before the end of the year; then they're on break until January. It's a combo rehearsal/party. I figured I'd be allowed to go, but I decided to email the section leader just in case. I said something like, is it okay if I come? After this rehearsal, just let me know when I'm needed. She replied by saying of course I was welcome, and I could keep coming until the band director told me otherwise. ...Oh? So, wait, does that mean I'm a sort-of official member? Hmm. Interesting. I guess I've proved myself with the several flute choir rehearsals when I was alone on my part, so that's good. My only concern is that there's seriously no room in the section, so it can get awkward at times, but it's nice to know I've ingratiated myself. Plus, I mean, it's an excuse to bake biscotti this weekend. :P
