[Posted before Lupin's death; his replies will come after]

[Infirmary doctors only filter.]I imagine you all know, to some extent, why I am bringing discussion to the table. I discussed it openly enough. Dr Lewis expressed concerns, and I don't think they should ever be ignored or go undiscussed ( Read more... )

...what do you mean "in your care?"

I mean he is in the infirmary, in need of medical care. I cannot give you further information until I have been given permission to. Which I will seek.

Do not worry, it is being handled and Mr Lupin will be perfectly fine.

[pause. when he speaks, his answer is all cop.] You're not seriously trying to pull doctor patient confidentiality on this. Here. Without a set rule of law.

My oath applies, no matter where I am.

I am going to ask him permission. But I do not have the right to tell you, behind his back. I'm sorry. I will inform you as soon as I am able. Which is not right now.

He did so, and I was afraid of that.

What was the cause of death, doctor?

There are two possibilities, and unfortunately, the injuries were sustained in such close proximity, I cannot tell which occurred before death and which after.

His neck was broken, and he lost significant amount of blood through a bite wound - a vicious one, as if an animal, or... vampire has done it.

Given where his body was found, my initial assumption is that he was bitten viciously, then fell down the stairs, but I imagine that's your area of expertise. Either the broken neck or blood loss could have killed him, but I cannot be absolutely certain which came first.

So in your professional opinion, you would say either his neck was broken, and then his blood was drained, before he was deposited at the bottom of the stairs, or, he was attacked and drained, and his neck merely happened to break as the body was discarded?

I would say either of those two are the only possible causes of death, yes. The specific order is difficult to determine.

Either way, the bite could not have been done by human teeth.

I understand the necessity of prioritizing medical emergencies, of course.

But I also think this will be forgotten in the aftermath.

Then consider this me asking you to remind me if I do forget.

I intend not to. I intend to keep my promise.

What, really?

[HE IS SUSPICIOUS. Because most wardens would just tell him to STFU instead.]

Alright, I will.

Yes. Not that it will be necessary, but you are perfectly within your rights to remind me.

I do apologise that this could not come to a... more immediate solution.

[He sounds just a wee bit distracted:] Standards, yes. Good idea, setting standards. Communication! All that.

Monday...Monday's fine.

Well. [Aaaaand that's all he's got to say. :(]

John, are you alright?

[pause]

I'll deal with this. You don't... I can find you something else to do whilst he's here, if you want.

Yes.

...well, no. Not at all. My friend's in a coma - since last Monday, actually, and now this, and I don't think my inmate's going to take it too well, and his face, God, seeing my face --

And I just realised that I don't know your first name.

Oh. I'm sorry.

Again, don't come in whilst he's here. You don't have to at all, there's enough of us.

It's Miguel.

Shit. [Yes, he just swore.]

I fear this is my fault. How many people are hurt?

I gave him half information in the hope it would be better than none, and didn't take into consideration the consequences. It was a mistake.

Good, good. I'll...try and keep talking to him myself.

Does Mr Dracula need any assistance or not?
