It really does need to exist since the show clearly is not interested in going that way.
Nobody Has to Stay -- half of this fic is about Elena and Bonnie's friendship (I guess it counts as alternative s4 now, I wrote it during summer hiatus), so it should be relevant to your interests? If you don't mind that the other half is Damon/Elena, that is.
