TITLE: White Noise
RATING: PG13
GENRE: Gen, h/c, angst
WORDS: 1707
CHAR: Dean, Sam
SUMMARY: Coda to 9.18. Dean deals, with varying levels of success.

If he didn’t move his hand at all Dean could feel the thrum of the Mark overtake it for his attention like the hum of a fridge in a suddenly quiet house. It was oddly comforting. )

Excellent coda, I could practically hear Dean's voice as I was reading. Poor Dean always trying to do the right thing never quite hitting the mark, at least as far as other people seem to be concerned. Well done!

This is rough. Watching Dean spiral down so hard and knowing there's nothing anyone--not even Sam--can do about it.

Well done.

God, this is so perfect. It just fits the angst of this part of the series so much while also giving us a look into how the brothers are around each other when they aren't hunting some monster or another. It's poignant and heartbreaking and just so great. I will say I do wonder what the small part of Dean wanting to be saved is "standing in the way" of but I fear I already know.

Wonderful fic!

I've bee looking forward to reading this in full since the moment it was posted, and peeking at odd sections of it, stealing glances while I was supposed to be doing other things, treasuring it and waiting for a day where I could read it nonstop, start to finish. I love this in pieces, I love this in full, and in short, I love it to pieces. <333 There are so many wonderful, incisive lines in this, though my favorites are Forcing Dean to live with everything he thought he could pretend he didn’t own.

and

It was happening too fast. He couldn’t keep up, couldn’t find his way inside himself anymore. Everything looked different. Familiar, but changed. Distorted. Obscured. There were parts of him that he hadn’t seen in weeks.

Nnajghagajshgkjl <3333333 Beautiful coda to 9x18. I cannot conceive of needing anything more, because this is too perfect. Wonderful piece.
