Tenth Theory [Action/Voice]

((Backdated to the 9th, I think.))

[The morning after this, Don comes back to C6, and lets himself into the apartment.]

I'm back.

[His journal is waiting for him. He flips it open.]

Is there a My Friend Got Sent Back to Their Home Dimension support group here? If there isn't... there should be.

missing mikey, has anyone invented that yet, from the safety of his own home, sorry i was out late

I don't think we've ever had actual counselors or psychologists for that kind of thing. [He pauses.] They'd be overloaded with work pretty fast, in Luceti.

No, there doesn't have to be a ... moderator. Just people who are going through the same thing, and can help each other.

Have you lost someone?

Just somewhere where people can talk? I guess that'd be better than being psychoanalyzed.

...Ah... I've been on both ends. Lost and sent back.

Yes. It doesn't even have to be in person. If we stood back from our journals, it would almost be anonymous.

So it's true then? People come back, sometimes?

It'd probably get a lot of members.

[since you're a turtle, she'll guess] Are you talking about Mikey?

And, unfortunately, the members themselves would be prone to disappearing.

Did you know him?

It's so stupid, how all of this is just up to chance.

Yeah... well, not well or anything, but he was in the Brigade.

... The Brigade? I don't think he mentioned that to me. [He feels bad for not knowing.]

...I like this idea. It seems likely that many others would, too. Anyone who's been here for a significant length of time has lost someone.

Good point. If everyone who had lost someone came to the meeting, it would be too big. Maybe we could divide into groups?

Hm, maybe that could work. Then again, not everyone who loses someone will attend. Some are just more private than others. So it might not be that unmanageable.

Yes, of course. But I think there must be several hundred potential attendees, so it's possible that a lot of people could show up. It would be terrible if we had to turn people away, or if the meeting was so big and chaotic that it wasn't helpful.

... I think it's better to plan for a big turnout.

No, there isn't, even though a lot of people find themselves in that position.

Do you think many people would be interested, Miss Sage? Or do most deal with things in their own way?

I can't really speak for the population on this, but it probably wouldn't hurt to see if there was an interest.

From what I've observed, usually when a loss is experienced, if the person has other friends or acquaintances present, it's likely they'll be comforted by them, or even a passing stranger who can sympathize. After all... cycles like this have been going on for a while.

Yes. Natural groups. But I just came back from spending the night with someone who had lost everyone. And she's only a child...

[Well, he only has one little brother. But he really can't expect a stranger to figure out the Order of Turtles.]

Mike.
