ANGIE YOU BEAUTIFUL KRAKEN OF THE DEEPS. YOU DID PEGGY CARTER FIC. PEGGY CARTER, DO YOU SEE ALL THE HEARTS IN MY EYES.This is so excellent, I do love Peggy's determination and the way she carries herself through life. I love how, even in the wake of losing all these things that are important to her, she finds a way to pick up the pieces and make something new- she loses her role as a valuable intelligence asset, so she leads her own agency; she loses the family she found in the Howling Commandoes and she shapes them into something new; she loses the love of her life, but that doesn't mean that she can only love once. (Plus, I kind of always figured Peggy would marry Monty because you know how JJ Feild follows Hayley Atwell from role to role lol, but I am really happy you paired her up with Gabe-- it makes me think of the car ride where Steve's tiny and functionally disabled, and she says she knows what it's like, to have every door shut in her face; I think that she and Gabe would bond in a similar way and support each other through

I'm so glad you liked it! (And I totally went with Gabe because in the comics Peggy and Gabe TOTALLY GET MARRIED. Which makes Trip on Agents of SHIELD PEGGY'S GRANDSON. I sincerely hope they make this explicit in Agent Carter -- that she and Gabe get married and have a couple kids together and also adopt war orphans. And HELL YES they'd be super active in the Civil Rights movement!)

I didn't know that happened in the comics! I haven't read much of the... older stuff I guess? Idk. But it makes me really happy that she married Gabe, and I hope the MCU sticks with that. And the Civil Rights movement? Pretty sure they'd see that picking up speed and going I HAVE BEEN PREPARING FOR THIS MY ENTIRE LIFE, since Peggy's all about grabbing the people who know what it's like to get kicked around because society says it's okay and making that her army, so oh yeah they would dive right the fuck in.

I admittedly haven't read much of Cap in terms of comics, old or new -- most of what I know about him comes from references and background that pops up during his time in the Avengers or Civil War; also from more dedicated fans that fill me in on what I'm ignorant about.

And damn fucking straight they'd both be at the forefront of that fight! I see Peggy as being a born crusader, who doesn't hesitate from ANY fight that will see more/better rights for any group.
