Both Mohnkern and I can write music from a recording, so if you wanted to go anti tech with it, you could record you humming the tune and I could notate it for you.
I'd need a recording, so I could rewind/fastforward. It's sort of like transcription, where you might hae to listen to a sentence a few times to get it right.
Once you have the notation, you can feed it into one of a million programs (I know M has one he's fond of, I think it's called Finale) to create a simple midi file of it.

If you can't get me or wylddelerium to transcribe for you finale is a great program, but does have a bit of a learning curve. I'll look around, I know there's some other software that's easier.
Finale will write to mp3 and wav files as well.
