Island - The Musical!
Mod approved, and loosely based on the Buffy musical episode 'Once More With Feeling'. In the episode, a demon is summoned to Sunnydale and he causes the town to start acting like they're in a musical, with everyone randomly breaking into a song and/or a dance routine.
Sometimes it's over something trivial or silly (the dry cleaner got the mustard out of a shirt, getting a parking ticket, or just a normal conversation turned into a song), but it's also supposed to make people sing about secrets and feelings they've been hiding. A few people dance themselves into spontaneous combustion, and there's also a subplot about the person that summoned the demon becoming his bride, but those details aren't as important. (Unless someone wants to volunteer to be the demon summoner? XD )
Since I'm sure most of us aren't up to composing original songs, feel free to use existing song lyrics. They don't have to be songs from musicals either, anything goes. It can be as silly or as serious as you want to play it. And don't forget the dancing! Tap dancing, swing dancing, Esther Williams synchronized swimming numbers in the hot springs, or all the 'formerly dead' characters doing the dance from 'Thriller'. Be creative!
Just remember, the key here is that while the characters are singing & dancing, it should probably seem PERFECTLY NORMAL to them, just like if they were in a musical. Everyone around them can go o_O, and the characters can WTF after the fact, of course.
So starting when Sweet the Demon arrives on Friday the 28th 5th until he leaves on Sunday, feel free to have your characters sing and dance like they're on Broadway. Any questions?
