I'm hating Tumblr a bit for that same reason rn, it took me a while to accept but it is definitely killing LJ slowly, which makes me sad and mad! :( I mean I enjoy Tumblr now and then, mainly when I'm in the mood for some imagey stuff, but spending all one's time there and abandoning LJ (which I do think is better for what it does) in the process? :/ As you say, you also don't know who people are, even people from LJ, aside from a few I can't keep straight who is who...:s *sigh*

It is killing LJ, and it upsets me! :( It's heaven if you want pretty to look at, but you can't really have a conversation there, and the fandom wank levels are scary.
