Its okay to be gay. Finally.

History was created in my country yesterday. The 149-yr old law which found homosexuality unconstitutional and a hinderance in the fight against HIV/ AIDS was overturned and homosexual acts between two consenting adults was decriminalised. Section 377, which denied a gay person the right to full personhood was a legacy of colonial bureaucratic ( Read more... )

I had no idea you were from India :) I was very happy to see that in the paper yesterday. I may not be gay myself (though we should never say never I guess) but I have friends who are and I believe that love is love and nobody should care about who is in your bed as long as both people want to be here.

Yeah, Im from India. :) I went to a parade to show support for the cause and one had to see the jubiliance and relief on everyone's faces when this judgement was given by the courts.

One doesnt have to be gay to understand what they must feel like when they're told they're ill or they're committing a crime or a sin.

I support free love. Its a choice. A personal one.

PS - and so right about the "never say never". LOL. Ive had friends who realised they were gay when they were 30!!

Amen to your all post :D

I actually believe that sexual orientation is not black or white and that you fall in love with a person not their gender. So far I've only been attracted to men (unfortunatly lol) but I won't be close minded, the important thing is to be with someone you love and who will love you.

And amen to yours too. :D

Sexual orientation and why it can be different for people, is something I dont understand completely either, and so why should I judge it.

Love, I understand. And thats what I support. The choice to love and be loved. Even if its someone of the same sex. Whats the differnce really anyway.

I had no idea of the law in India, but it's SO GOOD to hear that they've changed it. This issue is also one that means something to me, so stuff like this makes me very happy. I believe you love the person, their gender is irrespective. So yay India, this is amazing. ♥

Gay activists in India have been fighting against this law since 2001. Its been a long fight for them. So this means a lot. So I will say YAY with you. :D

And I agree, Cat. Its the person that matters. If you love someone and have someone to love you back, other things just fade into insigficance.
