That was my impression, too. This is the first time he's put forth a respectable face since...well, since the general got under way, really.
I think I may have been a bit unfair to McCain, though. I held the wild, rancorous crowds that had that tinge of racism against him a bit, but tonight it seemed like he really tried to fight against the tide. His campaign forced him to become someone he wasn't and pander to the basest elements of the base - which was a shame, because I think the 2000 version of him I would have given serious thought to voting for.

My sister and I helped try to deliver Indiana. We're pretty sure we just made sure my parents' votes for McCain were a wash.
