First, Happy Birthday erilyn! I hope your family spoils you shamelessly.

Some interesting things I've read recently:

a) an essay by Annie Proulx about Brokeback Mountain, the movie and writing it, and

Did you see the interview (maybe Leno?) where Val Kilmer was asked whether he'd done any gay roles before Kiss Kiss Bang Bang? His answer?

It really is. I'm still a little flabbergasted that it went through 60 revisions.
