Danny sighed softly as he glanced over at the clock in his SUV, his fingers sliding down the center console to switch the song on his iPod. The Killers. Nice. She settled in against him and smiled. Lindsay was going to miss him this weekend, sure. But, as a friend. Because there was nothing else between them. Right? "Stay out of trouble while I'm gone, because I don't think Casey'll bail your ass out of jail," she said, poking him in the ribs.

He swore under his breath, his thumb stroking her cheek as he growled, "Oh for fuck's sake, Lindsay.." Shifting closer, he leaned in until he could capture her lips in a hard, almost brutal kiss in what he figured was a futile attempt to get her to realize that no, it wasn't past tense at all.

She jumped when she felt him move, felt his mouth hard on hers. Wanted nothing more than to kiss him back, taste him, feel him, lose herself in him. "You sure you don't mind? You don't have to," she said softly. Wouldn't have been surprised if he did leave her there, since she'd said some awful, hurtful things to him.

He bit his lip gently and glanced in her direction. "I told you I was gonna stay, I'll stay. I don't got anywhere better to be." Wanted to prove he could keep his word. Even if he was still shit at keeping his temper.

Lindsay nodded. "Okay. Thanks," she said softly, trying hard not to take that the wrong way. He probably didn't mean it to be hurtful, but after their argument, she wasn't sure how to take him now. Because things weren't awkward enough between them already.
