the "green" condo development at 23rd & Pine -- which is the site of that 100-year-old teardown house I was so obsessed with last year. (You might remember if you've been around that long.)

I look at houses like other women my age look at babies. If I have any sort of biological clock it's for a home not for a child. Sadly, I think I may end up renting for the rest of my life at this rate...
I get nearly as cranky about old homes being torn down as I do about old trees being cut down. Unless they have disease or rot or something that makes them a danger - that's understandable. Clear-cutting lots just because they can? Taking out perfectly good trees that aren't hurting anything or a danger? That just sucks. Once upon a time trees lived for hundreds of years. A newly planted tree will take DECADES to replace an established tree that was removed - IF IT LIVES THAT LONG!
