I think I know a little bit how you feel. I spent a good year-long period without a job, and it was very discouraging to apply and apply and apply and get nothing in return. You just have to keep trying. Start off with a crappy minimum wage and then you can find something better until you're happy. I don't think you sound spoiled, because spoiled people revel in the fact that they don't have to work. :) Just keep your chin up!
