They were adorable! Lookit them almost seeming like they could overcome their total failure to D! (I love them, but, um, that one Ducks goal was a) a mess, and b) super typical for them, so. :P)

O'Reilly is definitely well on his way to making Duchene forgive him, haha.

Yeah, I definitely got the sense that this wasn't typical for them, even the commentators seemed surprised. BUT THEY WERE ALL SO ADORABLY HAPPY. It's nice that they can start their season optimistically, even if it won't last.

O'Reilly's goal was beautiful. That had to earn him at least some friendly shoulder pats from Matty.

Yes! I need someone to make gifs of the postgame hugs because those were GREAT.

I really need more interviews like the ones from the preseason where ROR keeps gushing about Matty and Matty cautiously compliments him, but reminds everyone that they were sloppy in the third or whatever. Their past drama/current dynamic is so interesting to me.

I am really disappointed that there's not much fic about them. WHY IS NO ONE WRITING ABOUT THEIR EPIC BREAKUP/CAUTIOUS MAKEUP? I would read a couple 100k.
