ok, now I'm in a happier frame of mind, and ready to talk about what I did with pretty much my entire day today, which is: watch all of The Lizzie Bennet DiariesHas anyone heard of this? I hadn't, before someone of my flist posted about it a few days ago. It's a modern adaptation of Pride & Prejudice, but what's really cool and clever about it is

I loooooove The Lizzie Bennett Diaries; I've been keeping up with them religiously since Thanksgiving!

At present, I'm so nervous about what's going to happen to poor Lydia. But I also love how they're portraying her and don't make her seem dumb for hanging out with Wickham, because he's so convincing and charming in his douchery. Have you watched any of Lydia's videos yet?

I didn't watch the Lydia videos yet, because I wasn't sure how interesting or relevant they would be, since they take place away from the main plot.

In all the other adaptations I've seen Lydia is mostly just annoying and self-absorbed, so I have trouble feeling any sympathy for her. But I really like this Lydia. She's still sort of a ditzy party girl, but she's loyal and obviously concerned about both her sister's happiness, and her fight with Lizzie showed a more serious side, and gave possible motivations for her upcoming ~problems, instead of just plain stupidity.

Has there been any more to her storyline since she went to Vegas? I'm thinking a vegas chapel elopement? But idk, that might be too obvious, this show keeps proving itself more clever than I expect in the way it reinterprets the plot points.

I haven't seen all of the Lydia videos, but I have seen the most recent ones with Wickham. I like them, because they give you a sense of why Lydia is with them and why being with him doesn't make her stupid. I just liked the way they characterized her in the last few. :) I don't think we know yet what bad things have/have not happened to them.

YOU WATCH THEM TOO????? Aren't they just the best? I watched a few of Lydia's videos and I plan on watching the rest if I make it through the semester.

LIZZIE BENNET DIARIES IS SO MUCH FUN! They also made a spin-off for her sister Lydia that is very engaging and doesn't paint her as a spoiled brat. She's just a teenager who found someone that made her feel special and now she's leaning into it. It's a very great way to spend your time.
