Hello, internet. I didn't realize it had been a whole week since I checked in. Oi. Life has been busy lately, but in that mundane, real life way, and not at all fandom-wise. So. This is a boring, random rl update kind of post

Ooh! Excited about your recs! I've been meaning to try out m/m romance for a while!
And I hear you about the nightmare of grad school. I have pretty much the sweetest set-up ever or grad school, and it still freaks me the hell out.
I have the EXACT same shopping problem. I see things that are cool and buy them and give them to my sister, because she's basically me only different, and then I have five things for my sister and nothing for my mother-in-law. :|
<3 Glad to hear things are going good with you, thought!
ooooo if you're new to m/m romance, I'll give you some all-time favorite recs to start you off. the ones I read lately were good, but there are much better ones out there. just give me a little time to pull them together!
ugh, grad school. I'm glad I did it, now that it's done, but I just never wanna feel that constantly stressed out ever again.
:DDDDDDDDDD. YOU'RE PERFECT and I'm glad that things are going well for you.
I'm also thinking about entering the madness of grad school (math grad school, of all things), but we'll see how I feel about that if I get an internship this summer or not.
you and your ridiculous math, you smarty pants. I have sort of mixed feelings about grad school, looking back. I'm glad I did it, but I do regret funding it through loans. It's stressful, to be constantly challenged and working at a higher level, but it's also amazing to really focus on your field and be surrounded by people so passionate about it. I actually miss that part a lot.
my brother is thinking about grad school (for computer science), and the advice I gave him was to consider taking a year off, earning some money, and enjoying a little bit of non-academic life for a change. it's tough to be in school for almost 20 years straight.
how is your semester going? I'm surprised you can even think about more school while you're gearing up for finals. I always hated this last month.
Pssssh. I've been thinking of grad school since second semester, freshman year. At this point, it's not even a matter of "Am I going?" It's a matter of "Who's giving me a fellowship/TA-ship, because this girl is BROKE."
When I get out, I'll have a teaching certification in math and Spanish, so if I don't get grad school funding, I'll work and see how that goes. I do not have the means to pay back loans and getting just a master's degree in math is virtually useless (there's literally ZERO funding, since they give it all to PhD students). Otherwise, I have to stay in school.
Right now, I'm looking for paid summer research internships since they'll look good on a resume and give me a feel for what grad school will be like. The deadlines range from Jan. 1 to Mar. 1, so if I wait til winter break, I can't get recommendations. :(
