so lately I've seen a lot of these One Direction kids on my flist, and mostly just ignored it. I mean, I went through my boyband phase at one point, I remember the appeal, but it's not really my style anymore. but then today I finally got curious and looked them up on youtube. I listened to parts of a few songs, and as I guessed, it wasn't really ( Read more... )

It can not be worse than having Kesha's "We R Who We R" stuck in your head for a week! That's right, all last week, ugh!

(Also, no unicorns showing!)

Any day that starts with an adorable herd of crocheted unicorns can only be a good day. So adorable!

The unicorns are sooo cute.

A guy I know found a Blackberry phone by the side of the road and gave it to me so I could find the owner. I can't do anything with it as it has only one password attempt left, so I just put notices up, told the Gardai (police) I have it, that kind of thing. Now it's sitting there, with an alarm going off every ten minutes. The alarm tone is One Direction's What Makes You Beautiful, a song I used to like! :( I really hope the owner gets in touch soon...

AHAHAHAHAHA oh god, that's terrible, and hilarious, and awful. I would have thrown the thing up against a wall by now.

Not trying to convert you or anything, but I can tell you as someone who totally did not plan on ending up in 1D fandom-- the appeal is not the music! I don't care about their music much at all but the boys and their shenanigans are more than worth your while. Rather than looking at their music vids on youtube, I fell into the funny interview trap and... well, that was six or seven months ago and I am an adult but they have sort of become a large part of my life.

And I didn't even HAVE a boyband phase! If I went back and told my 13 year old self that she'd fall in love with a British boyband in her 20s, middle-school me would be BAFFLED.

they are completely adorable, and I try to avoid looking at other people's posts about them, because I know I could totally get sucked in. cute little british boys being cute all over each other. guuuuuuuh must resist!

I just got into them, and I love the music myself, but you are right. I went through their official YouTube channel and FML. They are just dorks, and dorks are my weakness. AND THEN I DISCOVERED RANDOM INTERVIEWS. Life ended about there, I would say. /sobs

HALP.
