Ugh, pre-ordering Avengers may not have been the best idea; it's need to be here NOW, dangit. I am missing all the feels.

As for new shows, I really enjoy The New Normal and Go On. Missed Ben & Kate, but will watch that eventually. And Parks and Rec started last week! God I love that show so much.

Good luck with the veganism! I have a few friends who are as well, i'll if they have any recipes to recommend.

oh no, I'm behind already! I gotta check my dvr settings and make sure everything will auto-record, because I always forget when they're on.

I saw ads for the New Normal, that's going on my watch list. Hadn't heard of Ben & Kate, but that sounds good too!

I went completely vegan for 9 months and it was so, so, so much harder than a simple vegetarian diet! I never noticed how often casein is used in vegetarian food. Once I eliminated that from my diet, my choices became pretty darned restricted. Also, Indian food! They put ghee in almost everything and I so love Indian food :( Cooking from scratch helped and my continued dedication to rice and beans in every form was also a blessing. Good luck with your vegan adventure, I hope it helps settle your stomach issues!

it is hard! my brother has been a hardcore vegan for about 8 years, and he basically lives on rice, tofu, pasta, and veggies. there are so many little things that I wouldn't even think of.

since it's not about the moral side of things for me (which I totally respect), I don't think I'll be quite so extreme. it's more about cutting out the major things that make me feel not-good. but cooking more often is definitely part of the plan (and probably the hardest part. I'm such a convenience food junky)

he basically lives on rice, tofu, pasta, and veggies add beans, potatoes and vegan "steak" strips and you pretty much have what I lived on at the time. My quest was health related, not morally dictated, though, like you, I completely respect that. I'd read up on the benefits of a strict vegan diet for diabetes so I gave it a try. Eating out was the worst, having to question every ingredient that went into any meal...I frequented your employers often!

However, it didn't work in the long run (the miracle cure didn't happen for me!) and I wound up missing dairy like insanity. I could easily live without meat or fish but I was definitely hating the no-dairy thing. Now I eat a lot of vegetarian food but I do have some animal protein in my diet. The balance works for me.

(I would probably keel over if I ever became lactose intolerant. Life without yogurt?? It was horrible!)

I keep wanting to go vegatarian, but at college, that's not even possible with my meal plan. >_>. I tried it for Lent one year though adn after the first week, my on;y problem was that I had to carry food all the time since most vegetarian options are meh.

Tell me how it goes for you.

So I'm gonna try the vegan thing for a while. I did it a while back, as part of a diet program we did at work, and I felt fantastic. So I'm gonna give it another go. not permanently, because cheesecake, and not super strict, but as a general plan of making healthier choices. So here's to feeling healthy.

To feeling healthy! *clinks glass*

I was vegan for over a year and then lapsed, unfortunately. I'm only vegetarian now. No doubt though that eating vegan or mostly vegan is a great way to munch a lot of delicious and healthy things. More power to your elbow.
