I just paid $41 in total for books. Books I'm not required to read for any particular reason. This is the first time I've ever paid for books. I actually used to go to the library A LOT when I was in elementary. Like, every other day. I swore off reading at an early age because I was in a reading contest that I used to win every year and some girl ( Read more... )

How to Win Friends and Influence people is full of some very opbvious information HOWEVER it is helpful in REMINDING you of things.

The one thing I learned from that book is that when in line for something important, try to get into a dudes line. Opposite sexes are more likely to help a person.

I sometimes think back to that book though, even though it's so obvious, when needing to talk to bosses and things.

Yeah, I read the Wiki article on the book before I bought it. And like you said, it's just for a reminder basically.

Really? I didn't know you were interested in the music biz at all. Someone on this awesome music industry board I posted on recommended it, so I'm giving it a shot. Everyone on that board is usually pretty smart.

John read Tour Smart, he gave it a good review, even if it was useless I like reading about touring and things relating to touring.

i need to pick up some new books as well. the last time i actually sat down and really read one was on the flight from philly to key west back in june.

i used to do the reading contest thing too in elementary school. it was always a competition between me and this girl rachel. she was the teacher's pet. i remember one time our 2nd grade teacher was showing off books she was recommending for a class project and she made some comment that a particularly long book would be perfect for rachel. since i got to pick mine first i took that book. i don't remember anything else about that scenario, but yeah.
