I had a friend once who had a really weird language issue: he thought in Spanish, but he couldn’t speak Spanish. I first started drawing in 1998 out of boredom and with the realization that, if I ever wanted to make a comic book or comic strip, I would have to do it myself. I spent the next couple of years doodling like mad, with energy and optimism I wish I still had.
