I like this. It's an interesting take on monsters in the closet. Loved the fearless little girl heroine.

She's based on some girls I've met over the years who, I'm certain, could take on the Boogieman singlehandedly.

In a world like that it's a good idea to choose the cast iron cookware over the stainless steel. You never know when you need to clock a monster.

Exactly. Also, apparently cast iron makes bacon taste better. So that's two good reasons right there.

Magic use in Rafaela's family goes all the way back to before the American Revolution. I want to tell the story, but I haven't figured out how.
