The latter half of my weekend rather blew. But it always does. I went to Book Off and found some rather good things though. I found the Marmalade Boy artbook that I've been wanting for a while. They used to have a couple copies of it at Anime Hurricane for something like $30. I got it for 300 yen...less than $3. And then I got this fscking ( Read more... )

well, one talent you clearly and consistently manifest is a talent for self-expression. don't you think good writing skills count in this life?????????don't you think good critical skills and the ability to assess so much culture and make judgements on so much art and thought is talent??????well, you got it in spades, kid. don't dismiss this. writers MUST be broad and all-consuming or their vocabularies fail. your voraciousness is a gift and hunger and yeaning go with the artitic temperament, so don't knock it. what you need is a boss who is creative to give you a creative assignment and supervise your work. then you will have a specific challeneg to use your natural gifts toward a specific end and you will soar (NOT sore)

wow. sounds like your having fun. Evil greggy is in japan right now too..

Maybe you just need some soul searching? or something.. i was never good at any sort of advice considering the only think im passionate about is my artwork, and while i think im pretty damn good, im still not good enough to be anything competative. Considering thats the only thing i want to do in life, ill go into a boring office job and finish my reports early and spend the rest of the day drawing my obscure little comic books.

Sink? what? you hadn't cleaned it for several.. months? nasty clog? i suppose. I had a strange mental picture of you in galoshes, with you hair in a bandana, elbow high rubber gloves and a rubber apron with a plunger trying to unclog your sink. in fact, that would make a very humerous drawing.

btw did you find the manga supplies? if you give me a price i could give the money to your mother to put in your account.

No, none of that stuff. Just my regular clothes, sleeves rolled up. I don't mind getting my hands dirty when it's with my own mess, or perhaps a koibito's mess. But when anyone else is involved I'd be all up in a biohazard suit.
I'm working on a big drawing as of today. Gonna color it with markers. I went to Nagoya this weekend buy I didn't go to the art store because I forgot to double check again exactly what it was that you wanted. But I'll get it before I leave and just give it to you in Miami and you can pay me back then. It probably won't be too much, but I'll tell you now that the better markers aren't *that* cheap. They're about $3 each. But they're *really* good.

i dont know which markers you're talking about.. but the ones im in love with are the Tria markers which are about 3.5 apeice but they come with 3 size tips and are refillable. I only have 2 right now, two flesh tones, and the rest i use crappy costco 100 pack markers. But they work really good, only cost me $15. ^_^ Amber (currently the colorist for Velvet) is buying that huge 140 pack of Prismacolor markers which is goign to stick her in the hole $280. Theyre not a nice as the trias, they only have 2 nibs and arent refillable, but they perfectly m atch the 120 set of color pencils i gave her to color velvet (Also prismacolor). I think shes actually going to buy it O.o What kind of markers are you talking about? (and OK to your idea of just buying them before you leave, email me a week before and if you want ill send you the list again if youve lost it.)
