Finally got around to seeing Avatar. The plot was just as original and subtle as I had heard, which is to say barely at all. But I liked it a lot better than I expected...highly diminished expectations can help with that. Also the Navi were much more convincing than I expected. I think I remember some scenes from the trailer and just thinking

I've wanted to see this movie (though I don't go to theaters often). I heard a bunch of praises for it.

Also, there's ALWAYS going to be horrible fanfiction.

My gf has spent the last 15 minutes or so looking up bad fanfic for it, just because I suggested it. Argh... But yes, of course there will.
