For lunch today I had a "power protein plate" from Starbucks. It consisted of a whole wheat mini-bagel with peanut butter, two slices of apple, two slices of decent cheddar, 20 or so smallish grapes, and a hard-boiled egg (with salt and pepper to put on it ( Read more... )

I used to be grossed out by it, but now I've developed a fondness for it.

Now I'm very slowly working on increasing my avocado tolerance.

avacado i learned to like as well. eggs though have been a lifelong distaste.

was the peanut butter almond butter? i heard starbucks was getting a nifty almond butter.

It was just peanut butter. Otherwise I would have said almond butter ;)

I didn't know they sold that at Starbucks, but I used to make my own bento like that for class because I only had 10 minutes between each lecture and I needed something to eat that wouldn't make too much noise. It seriously takes two seconds to put together in the morning if you spend like 15 minutes every week pulling grapes off stems and pre-slicing cheese and apples, then portioning out everything into little snack baggies. All while boiling a dozen eggs.

Awesome, thanks. I'd probably have to fix lunch the night before though. I'm utterly incompetent in the kitchen first thing in the morning. I'd probably end up spilling something.
