^_^;; Thank you, I didn't think I was very subtle, but I tried! Yeah, Roy's insecurities were already getting to him, and it was only the second time they'd been together. I was trying to make people hope that he'd be able to cope, and then I decided "Nah, he can't cope" and inserted that line. XD Poor innocent virginal Jean XD;; I think it's certain that Roy cares for him, but he just has a very hard time expressing that care, because he feels if he does if something happens in the future to break them up all he said and done will mean nothing.

*nodnod* Roy was able to immediately realise he'd said something wrong... but he was unable to correct himself, and I think that's what hurt Jean most. Not that I think Jean's reaction was particularly mature, but anyway... XD;

^__^ <3 I thought the subtlety worked very well, since it all came out through action and feeling rather than explicit description. <3 That's something I admire a lot, since I struggle with it.

And Jean's reaction was very understandable. XD Certainly not mature, but I would've been rather surprised at a mature reaction. After all, he just got burned by the first person he ever slept with, and that is NOT at all a good feeling. Especially since with the way Roy had been acting, with his transfer and inviting him back, he was expecting a relationship. ;_;

This is true; poor Jean, just came to the city after growing up sheltered in the country, just graduated, found himself a position under a respected alchemist (no pun intended), just thought he'd found someone to love... and bang bang, his baby shot him down. *tanked*

Oh. Oh wow. I don't even really ship these two and I'm still completely blown away by this. It's absolutely gorgeous, but in a raw, painful way that just makes it even better.

Havoc is wonderful and adorably sweet in his inexperience, but then when the angst hits him...I just want to give the poor boy a hug. ;.; And I'm definitely looking forward to part two, whether I ship them or not, and I think I may have to check out your other work in the meantime. XD
