We're going to need more cots, some of you get your asses down here and move them in for us so the professionals can do their damned jobs.

Mahoney, a word.

[ooc; guess who's back, hiatusly and depollened. If anyone wants to backlog something let me know.]

We're all right for now, got the first people set up. I'd feel better knowing what kind of numbers we're looking at, though.

Once we have things under better control we'll see about numbers, I'd feel damned well better knowing it too. Did any of the staff get caught in the explosion?

Figure out if there's any uncontaminated food we can feed the patients and you'll be a saint Sexby.

[It was a mad house, but hell if it wasn't always a mad house. There was never a dull moment, and McCoy was thinking it bitterly for the first time in months because Kirk and D were lying on those beds. Kirk and D had died, died, but here death didn't mean a damned thing. The very thing he dedicated his life to preventing was a joke.

But that was a good thing, wasn't it?

McCoy glanced to the door as he got Judas's message, while he still had a moment to spare.]

[So dying was actually about as terrible as he imagined it to be.

It was dark and confusing and everything just fucking hurt and he didn't want this. He didn't want to die at twenty five, spending the last week or so of his life craving someone else's blood. That just. Wasn't fair.

Waking up in the Infirmary was disorienting after falling apart in the kitchen and the only response he could come up with was a mumbled] "Fuck" [ while he tested out his fingers and toes, making sure he still had all of them and that they you know, worked.]

[It had been a long few hours, but a thankfully busy time. He stopped by Kirk's bedside every hour, doing routine checks before moving on, hands shaking just a little the first few times. Now they didn't.

When Kirk started to move he hurried over, checking the same vitals again and swallowing a lump in his throat because Kirk was fucking Lazarus and what the hell was he? He was high as a damned kite when this happened.]

Don't move. [He said, holding the scanner to Kirk's forehead.]

"Pretty sure I can't make a break for it right now, Bones." [Jim muttered, trying to be humorous but it just failed, given how hoarse his voice was and how just plain tired he sounded.]

You idiot. [McCoy muttered through gritted teeth.] You god damned- you died. [He pulled the scanner away, scowling harshly at it.] You died for Christ's sake.
