Vegetarians, piercings, exploring, and fame...

Today, work...I kinda wanted to smack Will at work. Held off, and was really nice instead. I have to remind myself that it's not my problem. It just really bothers me that it bothers Mary, cause I really hate it when she's sad ( Read more... )

fuck you rabbit

Whiney, preachy, morally superior... I'm not saying it now, but I'll say it when you can hit me for saying it (because I deserve it) but jezze. And I thought you were a liberal.

Now, seeing your mother is a dietician, you probably know a whole lot more about this than I do, but I have heard from a whole lot of sources (some credible, some not) including vegans and veggitarians themselves that it is MUCH harder to eat healthy as a veggie, even when 80% of their food they cook themselves.

it's not that it's harder to eat healthy, it's that it's harder to maintain and substitute all of the proteins, iron, and other vitamins. That doesn't mean that it's impossible, you just have to be super conscious about what you put into your body.
And as for hitting you, I just might not do your laundry instead:)

dude, atkins is awful. when i started eating healthier(of course i slip up too many times than i'm willing to say) i noticed a big difference in my weight. and exercising too, woah man, woah. my weight dropped crazy fast. now, i don't exercise 5-6 times a week for 30 minutes like i should but i usually get in 3-4 35min-55min sessions in there which is pretty frigging good. more than probably a good 50-90% of the population. i like eating apples and oranges and bananas instead of donuts and potato chips. i feel less guilty and i'm doing something good for my body. at times when i do eat shitty food, i feel like crap both mentally for putting shit in my body but stuff like pizza gives me the runs. i know, too much info it's the truth. girls do poop people. anyway, i hate that 'fat surgery'. the docs go into someone's stomach and staple it into a real small size so people cannot eat and eat and eat. it is basically starving one's self. DON'T GET THE SURGERY AND PUT DOWN THE FOOD! Once most of these people who get the surgery can eat more ( ... )

I definately agree with you about eating habits. Ideally I'd like to give up all animal products, cause I do feel guilty about factory farming and the whole meat industry. It really is disgusting- when you know where your food comes from it immeadiately becomes less appetizing. I would never kill an animal, so it does make me the hypocrite to wear leather and eat meat. I guess I just don't have any self control. I eat mostly what my mom makes. Since I live there now, I do alot less worring about where my next meal is going to come from. It used to be that I just wouldn't eat hardly anything just cause I would never go food shopping. I would eat a couple spoonfulls of cottage cheese and have a can of tuna for dinner. Whatever was the quickest and the easiest....

Now I do find myslef having vegan tendancies. It is hard to commit to, especially since vegan food tends to cost more. I'm slowly phasing out meat. Dairy will take alot longer to eliminate... I guess time will tell how I do.

it's hard to be vegetarian when you live at home. Even harder to get all of the supplements that your body needs, but it's doable. It's all a matter of discipline.

I'm a Lacto-vegetarian, simply b/c I still eat cheese, still haven't gotten away from it, it's a really great diet, just be sure you are getting enough omega-3's (flax seeds or CAPS are great for that) can't do the "fish oil" tho, and if you are going vegan, wegmans sells "gelatin" free vitamins and supplements, multivitamins are a good thing to take too, and vitamin b-12 b/c they pretty much come from animal-diet, tho, I haven't started taking them, huh....go figure.....just thought i'd add my too cents...LOL....just saying hi as well....LateR

haven't talked to you in a while. :)

Thanks for the advice, it's totally appreciated. I do the B vitamins already, but I have to look into info about omega-3s.

So what have you been up to?
