Every vacation must end

I had three very pleasant days up in Wisconsin with my brother and his family. Mom was in a good mood the whole time and did not behave like a beast, even once. Maybe that's something she saves up for when we visit my sister's family ( Read more... )

http://www.judicialwatch.org has been watching corruption in ill for some time. Hugs you. Sadly there is apparently no cure for it that's legal.

I have just added Judicial Watch to my favorites so I can check it regularly.

I'm truly hoping that the third parties will find significant backing at the ballot box in November. It doesn't matter whether it is Libertarian or Green Party. If enough people refuse to vote for the two major party candidates, it could be a wake up call that might actually get some attention.

Sounds like you had a great vacation over the holiday weekend. With everything going on in your life, you deserve a good time... with chocolate martinis.

Glad your mom had a good time as well because there's nothing worse than a cranky mama. ;)

I did have a good time. It was nice to get away and re-energize so I can get back to fighting the good fight and dealing with whatever realities we'll be facing.

I must have the right group of friends over to open up that bottle of chocolate wine!

Glad to see that you got to take a short break from the insanity. We are state employees as well and CA hasn't passed a budget. If Arnold doesn't sign off on one before payday August 1st, they have threatened to pay us minimum wage until there is a budget.

I don't feel we should be penalized for the inability of our elected representatives to get their work done in a responsible, timely manner. If we get $6.75/hr on August 1st, I am voting everyone that is up for re-election out. They do this every dang year and it has gone beyond old now.

We are pingpong balls in their political games and I am pretty darn tired of it.

State government in Illinois is broken and can't be fixed under the current cast of characters. They are invested in keeping it broken. The same may be true of California. It's time to clean house.

I'm glad you got a break from all the insanity, and I very much envy you your new cookbooks, although I already have way too many myself. I wonder what it is that's so addictive about cookbooks....

I have to know: how on earth do they make wine out of chocolate?

I don't think that they made the wine out of chocolate. It refers to red wine as an ingredient and I think that they added the chocolate. Maybe drinking chocolate wine in a cemetery might stimulate paranormal activity? Or at least our perception of it?

;-D

Cookbooks are a good addiction, though.
