What a deliciously dark story! You've written the unhealthy dynamic between them so chillingly well. That loop of abuse and saying sorry and forgiveness and new abuse... and it just doesn't keep getting better. For that reason, I really love your ending. I love that it doesn't end with Denmark getting out or Norway changing his ways, but instead with them both acknowledging it's messed up but still continuing. Although, I'm not so sure if Norway truly realizes it's wrong or just pacifying Denmark - another thing I enjoyed, that you keep us (and Denmark) guessing.

And really, to some extent it's both - I believe Norway does on some level realise what he's doing and want to change, but on the other, he wants Denmark to shut up and stop making things difficult for him. But I left it fairly ambiguous, so in practice it's up to the reader to decide. :3

To tell the truth about the Iceland thing, Denmark was mostly just pissed off and trying to find a point to fight with. When thinking about it later, he would probably disagree with himself. Unfortunately, the whole thing doesn't much help the situation with Norway. :/
