It's cold, it's pouring with rain but it's the first day of meteorological spring - in the UK, anyway - and Yorkshire is awash with daffodils.

It's the wettest and warmest February that has produced the show so early (which is a bit worrying really). They're even coming out on the north side of the city walls. In the garden the slugs love them but what's left is still a lovely glow when it's raining and overcast.

Yep. It's cold, frosty and foggy. The more witless tabloids continue to threaten blizzards to come, which nobody at the Met Office seems to be suggesting, so who knows?
