A more detailed rant on the purchase of Zhivoi Zhurnal

So, SUP bought LiveJournal (or Zhivoi Zhurnal as our Russian friends call it). And Livejournal seems to think that it's a good thing. And, to be honest, there are both good aspects and bad aspects to this sale. Being the perky and sunny ray of sunshine that I am, let's start with:

LJ banned one of the people I read regularly, so she left to greatestjournal and I established a journal there so I could keep up with her. GJ has been facing server issues and has been recommending insanejournal. My friend had a journal there as well, but she'd post to GJ and copy to IJ. Now she's posting to IJ and copying to GJ. I've established a free account at IJ and will probably delete my GJ (I'd been posting here and copying there).

I may start posting there and copying here, if only because it seems appropriate that I have an insanejournal. :)
