This entry I dedicate to tsuki_no_bara .who gave me this idea after one of her entries last week. I'm always VERY pleased to introduce the world to my hometown *I warn you

Wow, some really, really nice pictures :) ♥ I really like old cities/towns like that. I don't even know how old our town is, but it's pretty small, only like 1,000 people live here, but so much has changed since I was a little kid. So many new houses and such and it has grown a lot.. But still... :)
I'm glad to live here :)
I really like the pictures, especially of "Wiesenkirche" :) looks great =)
We've a few citizens more here ... so 50,000 more or so ;). This long history was always one part of living here that I totally love. And I think it's kind of cute that there are officials refering me as a "native" while I'm not born here but because I know so much about this town.
this is a really cool post! i'm all pleased i was an influence. :D i love that you live in such an old town, i love the houses - the white plaster and wood framing is really neat - i love the painted ceiling in hohnekirche and the stained glass windows in wiesenkirche. also the old gate. and thank you for the quickie history lesson! i know pretty much nothing about medieval germany. we learned about the hanseatic league but that's kind of it.
Actually the Hanseatic League still exists, but nowadays it's not that important as it was in the Middle Age with the global markets and different trades. We just had a "Hanseactic Partner Day" this year where all the cities still part of it were promoted. LOL that really was a quickie. A while ago I was asked by the chief of the tourist-department here if I would be interested in leading historic tours. So, I know a lot more than what I've written down. It's sort of tradition that I'll give friends paying a visit a tour through the old town - or parts of it. And you are very welcome :)
