Shooting games make me more angry and frustrated than adventure/puzzle games by far. And it doesn't take as much thought to play raw FPS games, too. Lame. :P

I'm at a loss of words. I really can't believe it... Cyan had/has so much passion for what it did/does, and it shows in its beautiful creations. I'm so sick over the fact that FPS and RPG games are so much more popular than the Myst series/Uru currently is.

You mean to say that even their new projects are falling through?

BTW, where has Ryan discussed this? I don't see anything about it in his LJ.

He's blogging at thegreydragon.com again. (without telling his LJ readers, smackity!)

From what I understand, there are no publishers wanting to take up what Cyan has that's new. I'm not a solid source for news, though.

Since Tony and Rand are holding onto the Cyan name, I'm guessing they're hopeful that sales of Myst 5 can generate some last minute interest. I know what I'm buying everyone for Christmas. :(

Oh my god. That is so... horrifying. I know I'm not a die-hard fan, but I sure remember what MYST felt like. It was so perfect and new and wonderful... and really still is.

I have a feeling this isn't the last of Cyan, though. Maybe the name itself, but...

Even if you're not a die-hard fan, you should try to find Riven. You'd probably be able to pick up a second-hand copy without paying out your ears for it. Riven stepped up the visuals and the eerie suspense x25. I think you would enjoy the story line and the subtly disturbing villian.
I'm betting your computer could handle it since it's an older game.

The name is what's being held onto right now.. I'm hoping sales of Myst 5 will spark some new interest from publishers. ::crosses fingers::

Actually, dang.. Riven is readily available on ebay for less than $5 (watch out for shipping) WITH its box and such. Good time to grab it.

I actually have Riven around here somewhere, from way back when it was released... I think I got frustrated due to... puzzles... in general... *grin*

I do want to try it again, though. It was intriguing... and moreso due to GameFAQs.com... *cough*
