This might be a canuck thing, or a jew thing... but I don't get question number two. about early-friday? Is it a time of the year thing? (US Thanksgiving is around now, no?) or a time of the week? or what?

Thanksgiving is Thursday (always the 4th Thursday in November) and the next day is always BIG sales as they've finally cleared the last holiday before Christmas.

What is the big deal withs hopping on Friday? Isn't your Thanksgiving this Friday (or was is on the 19th)?

ahhh - I can never remember when your later Thanksgiving is. Seems odd to us Canadians to have it in November (lol).

Having it on a Thursday - that sucks! - especially if you have to work the next day.

This will be our first year we don't since Christmas and New Year's will be handled different due to being on a weekend.
