Feeling a bit emotionally raw at the moment. Had a conversation with a friend last night that went in a weird direction, and he said a couple of things that upset me. I have been lied to and I have had unpleasant truth's told to me.
And of the two I would always take the unpleasant truth option than being lied to and then finding out later.

So for me honesty and truthfulness go hand in hand.

Sorry it made you feel so raw, I know the feeling pretty well.
I thought I had gotten rid of all my barriers yonks ago but lately I've found I've built them up again :(

I think you can be honest without being unnecessarily truthful. You can say how you feel without reiterating facts both you and the person you're speaking with are well aware of.

Anyway, I'm mending. I'm more worried about him now because he works so much... he's the sort of guy that always knows best. So I just quietly worry myself and hope he's okay, because he won't listen to me.
