I'd start first by trying a different viewing option. As for GMail, I can't help you much there, but I've been having similar problems on and off for the past week. :( Livejournal did get hacked about a week ago, so they're still trying to come back from that and it's obvious in how slow it is and how poorly the site's been functioning.

IDEK why gmail seems to hate you so very much. Mine is perfectly fine! It makes the process of corresponding with you a total nightmare.

I don't know about Gmail, but LiveJournal has been suffering from a DDoS attack for the past few days. :/
