This story comes out of a gripe-fest on FaceBook wherein friends and I bemoaned the drift of Bond movies away from its source material, and generally the group's opinion was that the Craig Bond movie we all wanted to see was a throwback movie, with a grittier, cruder Bond story set in the days when the original books were set. I thought it might be interesting to go even a little further back than that; there are Young Bond stories in the canon, but to my knowledge nothing from post-war up until the events of Casino Royale in '53.
