What? What's going on? What made you sad?

My holiday reflection is this: I'm thankful for my small family. I know that it will always be possible to get together as a family. I mean, we'll always be able to regroup and enjoy one another, unlike large families that spread out and have a million other obligations.

My holiday reflection is: To be happy not because I want to but because I can/ I am happy.

Plus, for once to be with someone I can spend time with regularly. Long distant relationships suck!

Reflection (I would call it a holiday reflection but I've been marveling over it for a while now but turkey day did bring it into sharp contrast once again):

It amazes me how quickly a person can become completely and totally vital to your happiness, such that their meer absence can make it hurt so bad its hard to breathe. Factor in how long one has been alone prior to being with the vital person (5 years) and that one was happy then too (granted I will admit to being euphorically happy now vs just plain okay w/ life then) and it simply becomes even more amazing/shocking/wonderful.

Long story short: I love you and I miss you. And I'm extremely grateful I don't have to have the same experience I had on Turkey Day for Christmas...
