As Harry mentioned, the Barrier is being shifted to include the Men's Dorms. Harry and the Recovery Team will be spending Friday moving things from the other two housing complexes that are now all smashed to bits.
While they do that, mosey on over to the
room assignment list and select your room!
Remember that these dorms were used by 18-22 year old men. They are a mess. The Recovery Team has already ransacked them for supplies but there could be some things left as a Shoggoth had shown up during that little exercise.
Each room contains one double bed, a closet, a desk and a short chest of drawers. Most rooms will probably have little things that the kids left behind during the evacuation: stereos, mini TV sets, maybe a mini fridge, a computer, clothing, school books... Do with these as you will. Group bathrooms and showers are located in each wing. There is a laundry facility by the bathrooms too. There are also lounges with tables, chairs and a kitchenette by each set of rooms. For a map of the floor layout, please visit the
room assignment list in the sidebar.
Rooms are first come, first serve.
DORM FAQs!
Okay, here are some questions about the dorms and some answers.
* Are there bathtubs?
Not on the first three floors. This is a men's college dorm. Stall showers for everyone. Showers have curtains for privacy and little shelves to put toiletries. Wear flip flops!
* What's in the room I've chosen?
Up to you! If you find a laptop, clean the keys first and don't look at the file folder labeled 'school work' on the desktop because this machine use to belong to an 18 year old kid and that folder name is a not so cleverly disguised place for their alone time fun.
* What do the rooms look like?
The walls are finished and are painted blue, green or yellow... Gender appropriate colors for men, evidentally. The floors covered in high traffic, heavy duty carpetting. There's probably shelves too. Anything else is up to you.
* Are there bunk beds?
Miskatonic is an Ivy League university and therefore is very foo-foo and caters to people with too much money. All rooms on the first three floors are single occupancy. When/if we need other floors, I'll be sure to include double rooms with bunkbeds and maybe even some suites! For now, to make things easier on me, one person to a room.
* Oh, hey, I wanna bunk with someone!
That's fine! The rooms are just small.
* What if I wanna break down some walls to make a bigger room?
Hm. In my benevolence, I shall allow it...but only for people that want to double bunk. Please request this on the room assigment page. Both characters must make the request and will have to sledgehammer the cinderblocks themselves.
* How about other home improvements like repainting or putting up shelves?
There actually is some paint and wood and nails and things available from the Recovery Team's missions. Try not to go overboard with redecorating, but what you want to do to your rooms I'll leave it up to you.
