This was... erm, weird. He hadn't remember picking those sheets or buying a smart phone. It wasn't even a modified one he'd added little apps too, it was just a basic one with some very strange messages on them. He didn't fully grasp what was going on here but he knew that perhaps running was the best option. When in doubt, run? What good would an investigation matter when there was nothing but the phone he could go on?

Walking outside with the phone is his hand, he flipped over the message once more to try and work out if the man talking was at all findable.

Eye co-ordination was apparently key in walking, a fact that slipped Johns mind because he simply collided into something.

Or more someone. "Ow-- Jack?"

"Doctor?!" Oh, so now he showed up? Jack wasn't sure if he should laugh or cry.

He was going to bank on crying in a few minutes. Maybe punching the Time Lord in the face? Yes, sounded good.

"Better late than never, Doc?"

"Erm-- yeah, well, no. I'm not really quite him," John stumbled around the words because he was him, he felt like him and thought like him but he was human and apparently not him. He was John Smith, or so his ID and passport claimed. Even if he didn't really feel like a John.

Raising his hand, he wriggled his fingers at the other man.

"Almost, not quite, but you can call me Doctor. I would prefer it!" he joked, smiling slightly. Forget the scary situation, he wanted a reunion and hugs. Seeing Jack was much better now, there was no horrible wrongness.

Jack didn't flinch, he didn't do much of anything but stand there and look at the man with the hedgehog hair before he frowned and tilted his head to the side. "I thought you went with Rose."

Maybe that girl had been right and they had ripped through dimensions?

"That was my understanding too but then my sheets changed," John answered, shrugging. That was the thing that tipped him off, not the different ceiling or off sensation. It was the sheets. His were blue check. "I don't even get how this happen unless something has caused this. Clearly something has disturbed our universes."

Course, he was working under the assumption is was just the Zeppelin world and the non Zeppelin world.

"This is a problem, definitely a problem. What was the last thing you remember? Anything with Torchwood? Did you get any odd readings? Was the rift playing up?" So many questions, so little time.

"There is no Torchwood." It wasn't this cloned, metacrisis Doctor's fault, but Jack was still raw from it. Ianto wasn't even cold yet. Owen and Tosh-- He was having some trouble with it all. "The last thing I remember... I was leaving Earth, hitching a ride-- Oh, damn it. Slave traders? Well, this isn't the first time. Stick with me, Doc. No, that's weird. Do you really go by that?"

John knew something was up but even if he knew what it was, he couldn't come close to fixing things. This was the actual hims problem, not his. Okay, maybe he was being a bit brash but that was him, he was swimming in mixed personality issues that it was hard to be rational and sensible. But whatever it was, he was sorry.

"John usually, my passport says so. Rose made me documents so I could blend in, get a job and all that. Passport, birth certificate, bus pass and it written in my jacket," What? He didn't want to lose it, it was his last link to the TARDIS. Even if he felt like a kid whose mom did it at the start of school. "Doctor John N Smith. Do I look like a John? I can't tell. I think so but then I don't think so. Two minds about it. Two minds about everything really!"

Standing in the middle of the lawn with people shouting and running around and a warning bell sounding, Jack really wasn't sure he could take the extra crazy right now. He set his hand on the Doct-- John's shoulder and nodded. "You look like a John all right. Not as good of a name as Jack, but it's just right. You can tell me more in a little while but first, let's see what's going on here."

He'd just come down from the tower with a girl with claws. He hadn't really liked what he saw.

"Trust you to like a girl with claws," John muttered, rolling his eyes and he followed along after Jack. It was odd not taking the lead but he supposed he wasn't really the Doctor, he couldn't just take control of the situation as he pleased. Sadly. Plus Jack seemed to know what he was doing.

John didn't. But that was true of most things these days.

"So do you actually have a plan?"

Jack's grin was the sort that people either loved or dreaded. "Right now? Nope. But I'm unarmed and it seems--" Yes, people with guns and what looked like...super powers...odd...were taking care of those awful, terrible blobs of cancerous skin that flew above them periodically. "I saw we work on getting everyone back inside."

"Right, yes, how?"

He wasn't being awkward but people in a blind panic usually flapped and freaked and he used to solve that by shushing them but that was a Time Lord thing. The human thing was to yell, wasn't it? Looking down at his device, he started to have a fiddle with it, walking along without looking.

In the entirely wrong direction.

When Jack looked up, he couldn't see the Metacrisis anymore and took off running, calling for John. How did he disappear so fast?! In the end, Jack didn't manage to find him. He ran into another old someone that shouldn't be instead.
