These images all came out of the 1961 children's book What's for Lunch, Charley? by Margaret Hodges. The illustrations are by Aliki who has done lots of other amazing work. I googled "50's wallpaper" and found your LJ! It is amazing, some of the images remind me of my childhood (I'm 18!!!), my mom kept her childhood books and I always love them, there are images very similar with the ones you posted. Just great

This is my favorite childhood book (I'm 48 now). I liked it so much that I bought three copies- one for myself and one for each of my twins, now in 2nd grade. My daughter going to do her 1st book report on this book this weekend.

I was googling and found your blog. I still have my copy from when I was in elementary school and I plan to read it to my kid when he gets older.
