I still adore Hannibal, and still think it's one of the finest shows I've seen on TV, ever. I understand the controversy, I extend my sympathy to those people who are upset, and I respect their rights to voice that upset or back away from the show. Well, I thought you did! Pretty much what you might think. Fandom pretty much exploded and ate itself (heh) over Beverly's death and Bryan Fuller's comments about it. Apparently he received such a huge backlash via twitter/tumblr/etc. that Hetienne Park made a huge long (beautiful) post addressing it. It's fairly ugly out there, with one side claiming racism/misogyny at the death of a WOC-character, and the other other side being incredibly dismissive and rude of such claims, and no one really listening to each other.

As someone who sees how it's problematic, and yet sees it as perfectly in keeping with the show, the characters, the plot lines, etc., I was pretty much saddened by the inevitability of it all.
