Was there by any chance a large ARM engineering meeting in the other side of the hotel during the convention? I didn't get to go to it this year, but those who did all reported they were sharing with a furrycon :)

I think the big thing this year was Team GB fittings! (They were at the NEC but had dinner in the hotel.)

I remember! They were quite loud at times - though to be fair, so were we.

I met some hard-partying, hard-drinking Norwegians at the airport on the way home - wonder if those were the same! We had a nice chat, anyway, and they shared their rum with me.

It probably does make quite a fun change for a hotel from the usual estate agents/financial planners/MLM hucksters. ^_^

I must make another pilgrimage to Middle Farm someday. Truly a miraculous establishment. ^_^ Just, a bit of a pain to reach, if you're not driving, and AFAIK, no mail order - if they could only be thusly persuaded, I'd leap at the opportunity. As is, there isn't really anywhere to go to for a good selection of farmhouse cider - plenty of little places that sell one or two varieties, but nowhere like Master of Malt is for spirits, or Beers of Europe. Say, ever thought of going into business? =:D

I do have friends who make their own, and whose ultimate ambition is to buy an orchard from someone ready to retire. I suspect my true talents lie elsewhere, though!
