Till Death Do Us Part

I have not been able to write poetry in a couple of months, and I used to be able to do it at the drop of a hat. I guess I was inspired. If you have not watched CoE this might be spoilery, but I like that it can stand on its own away from TW.

Till Death Do Us Part

I held your body close to mine.
Each tick of the clock taking you further away.
I thought of happier times,
Of holding you in gentle caresses,
Feeling your hugs surround me.
Now I watch as you are stolen away.

All I can do is keep vigil,
And hold you to me.
I beg and plead,
But They refuse to listen.
I barter for your soul,
Willing to believe in any deities,
If they even exist in this chaos of life.

Your breath become shallow,
I know the raggedness hurts you,
But seeing you like this hurts me even more.
You talk to me, say you still love me.
I love you more than you can ever realize.
We kiss and I pray to whatever gods you believe in
that you know that much.

Your body stills.
My heart rips apart.
I refuse.
I want to cry.
I want to scream.
I would do anything.
All for you.
Instead, my heart stops, too.
