Summary: The homecoming we’re all waiting for. :D

Flour. Eggs. Sugar. Vanilla. Butter. Icing.

Changmin briefly conjectured that if ever love could be made, these would be the primary ingredients. Along with bright colors, long afternoons spent in the kitchen, and sparkles.

“Do you think JaeJae will be mad that we used his new kitchen utensils?”

Changmin looked over at Yunho as he brought the last layer of their “Welcome Home JaeChunSu” cake out from the oven.

“When he sees what we made with them, probably not,” he replied, smiling. Yunho smiled too, and set the last layer on top.

“Yunho, people can’t eat craft sparkles…,” Changmin reprimanded. He’d walked back into the kitchen to find Yunho spreading sparkles, the kind you don’t eat unless you want incisions all down your throat, all over their cake.

“They’ve never hurt me before,” was his confident reply, as he threw another handful over the towering structure.

Changmin decided he didn’t want to know how Yunho found that out, and scooped the entire cake out from beneath him.

“They’ll be here any minute, hyung, go get cleaned up!”

“Anybody home?”

Jaejoong lead the way into the apartment, Yoochun and Junsu hauling heavy suitcases behind them. Jae flipped the light switch for the kitchen,

“WELCOME BACK, HYUNGS!!!”

And nearly had a heart attack.

“Oh my god,” Junsu said [but left off the “sun”] Yoochun simply dropped his bags in surprise, a smile already tugging at the corners of his lips.

“Did you two make this yourselves,” Yoochun asked, pointing to the three-tiered masterpiece, then sampling the frosting.

“It took all afternoon,” Yunho groaned, looking to Changmin. There was some leftover flower on his cheek, so he licked his thumb and brushed it away.

“But, we wanted a nicce reunion for us five,…so we had fun while making it,” Changmin finished, smiling at Yunho.

Jaejoong picked up a serving knife and began cutting copious amounts of love for everyone.

Changmin set the last bit of dishes in the dishwasher, looking up as Yunho came in from the dining room.

“Everyone’s asleep,” he said, motioning to the other room with his thumb.

“Tired from a long day,” he supplied, drying his hands on a dishtowel.

Yunho captured Changmin’s hand as he set the towel down, and pulled him closer. He brushed the younger man’s disheveled hair, eyes melting into tender puddles of chocolate for the first time in months.

“I’m glad you never left me,” he whispered.

Changmin sighed as he smiled, tears forming at the corners of his eyes as he remembered all of the hard times they went through. Yunho leaned forward and kissed the memories away gently, running his thumbs over Changmin’s closed eyes while they kissed. When they parted, foreheads resting against each other, Changmin thought he felt happy. Then felt happier at the thought of being happy.

“I’m so glad everyone’s home again,” he whispered.

Because we’re gods. And gods never die.
