Title: Just Another Day
Pairing: Yoochun/Changmin
Genre: Fluff, Crack
Rating: PG-13
Summery: Everyone deserves a day off, eat, drink and be merry... until the fangirls find out.
A/N: Wherein you will find no angst and a nice helping of crack.
Everyone's gone leaving him in the apartment by himself, so he calls Yoochun to keep him company, even though he knows Yoochun likes to be with family when they have that one, not so often, day off in Korea.
"And bring food, I'm starving," Changmin lays on his bed staring at the ceiling wondering when that huge crack formed and almost concerned it may cause the rubble to come sailing down upon his unsuspecting form, killing him in his sleep.
How horrifying.
"I'm not paying for food Changmin, you pay or I'll cook when I get there," Yoochun's voice comes in and out with the wind outside and heavy distraction from his barking dog.
Changmin decides to avoid tempting death and moves sluggishly out into the living room, settling on his back, same position just with no crack above his head to flash horrifying images of cracked ceiling cascading down to impale him in the chest.
"I'll pay. Go to that one place with the one things filled with pork meat," he thinks of the beaten down, hole in the wall, restaurant he and Yoochun discovered walking around one night just to get away from the madness of their everyday life.
They hadn't had food that good in so long and between the two of them, they left a tip that almost matched the bill. Changmin can already smell the aroma of home-style cooking and his mouth waters just a little, "Oh, and get those dumplings that were really good and the beef, but not the steak kind, the other kind. Oh and pick up some of that ice cream stuff too and don't forget-"
"Get dressed," Yoochun finally breaks through when he takes a minute to fantasize about all the good food that will soon fill his empty stomach, "And by dressed I don't mean putting on some shoes. I know you're in those god awful sweats with the hole in the crotch and that stupid t-shirt with stains from your food binges that's way too small for your caveman shoulders."
Changmin looks down at himself with a frown, but he was comfortable and he's going to kick Yoochun's ass when he sees him for that comment. "Why?" he stands up and starts walking back into the room with the crack of doom, he eyes it for a moment then throws his closet door open.
Yoochun sighs and Changmin can hear that he's in his car already by the sound of music in the background, "Because I'm not going to spend my first day off in months eating take out with you. We're going to go out, breathe some air, maybe play hide and seek in the city, like old times."
By Hide and Seek Changmin knows Yoochun means them hiding while the ever present fangirls seek them out like drug sniffing police dogs. Oh, the good old days Changmin thinks back and grabs a clean shirt and a pair of pants on the floor. "Ok, but get here quick, I'm hungry."
"Yeah, yeah, I'm on my way," and he can feel the smile through the phone as Yoochun says goodbye and hangs up.
Yoochun arrives five minutes later as Changmin is tying his sneakers. He's casual in his usual slimming jeans and a deep purple v-neck t-shirt, a beanie over his long wavy locks. Changmin thinks he likes the long hair on him; it makes him look older and almost a little girlie but still ridiculously good looking, which he still can't stand.
"You ready?" he smiles and Changmin nods standing up, he grabs his wallet and a pair of sunglasses, for a second he considers taking a hat but Yoochun is bouncing back and forth on his feet impatiently. "Let's go," he swings his keys around his fingers and Changmin grabs one of Yunho's caps just in case as they walk out.
"How's the family?" Changmin brings up in the elevator. Yoochun's lip lifts just slightly and for a second he kind of, almost, feels bad he's pulling him away from them because he's a little too selfish to stay by himself. "We don't have to go out you know, if you want to spend some time with-"
But Yoochun waves his hand to dismiss whatever sweet sentiment is preparing to leave Changmin's mouth, "Don't worry about it, they're working anyway and Ricky has a new girlfriend so he's off with her today. I didn't get a chance to tell them I was coming home so," he licks his lips, "you know they really didn't have time to make any arrangements," and he looks a little sad.
Changmin thinks he feels even more bad and reaches out pulling him in close beside him, wrapping his arm around his shoulder in a kind of intimate side hug. He feels a little better when Yoochun ducks his head and he knows he's smiling.
The elevator doors open with a loud ring and they both poke their heads out carefully to make sure there aren't any fans stalking the ground floor. When the coast looks clear they head to the back door into the covered garage and Changmin settles comfortably in the passenger's seat while Yoochun takes the wheel.
"You remember where the place is right?" he asks worriedly when sunlight hits the windows and they're out in public. Sometimes it really bothers him that his heart beats just a little too quickly in impending fear when he leaves his apartment nowadays, though it's nice to be with someone else just in case and at least Yoochun's had some form of martial arts training, he can be his savior if he needs too.
Changmin turns his head and lowers the brim of his cap down when he sees a group of fans huddled around the street. Thank god for tinted windows he thinks wearily.
Changmin doesn't see many people around when they get out of the car, yet he slides his sunglasses on and Yoochun tugs at his beanie while they walk around and into the restaurant. It looks the same, a few tables for dine in and it's pretty empty, in fact they are the only ones there. The smell is intoxicating and ludicrously wonderful. His stomach growls hungrily and since Changmin is paying he makes Yoochun order.
"Junsu wants me to dance better," Yoochun grins a little, drinking from his beer and Changmin snorts.
"You dance fine," Changmin says absently reading some of the interesting rolls on the menu.
"I could put a little more effort into it," he admits after a few quiet seconds.
Changmin sets the menu down and looks at Yoochun. "If you'd like, I can practice with you. I mean, I'm not Junsu or Yunho but, I'm not so bad," he smiles and Yoochun's eyes sparkle in gratitude.
"And I can help you sing better," he offers nicely.
He glares. "I sing just fine," he kicks him and when Yoochun laughs it fills the entire space with joy.
"That's mine," Changmin stabs the last dumpling with a mouth full of food.
Yoochun's face breaks into a grin, "You've had most of them, don't be selfish." He knocks his chopstick away and lifts it to his mouth.
Changmin slaps it down and it rolls onto Yoochun's empty plate.
The owners watch as two of Asia's brightest stars fight over their food and neither Yoochun nor Changmin seem to be ashamed of their infantile behavior.
"You had most of the noodles!" Changmin whines and shoves his hand under Yoochun's chin forcing his face up and mouth closed, he catches it before it falls to the ground and Yoochun finally smacks it so hard he sends it flying out the door onto the street.
They both watch as it falls to the ground in a pitiful thud and wince when a bicycle rolls over it and leaves a mushy mess.
"That was heartbreaking," Yoochun frowns and Changmin glowers.
They turn back together to see what's left of their food and when they notice one more rice ball Changmin grasps his knife and points it at him.
"I swear I will cut off your fingers if you try it," he warns dangerously.
Yoochun who's always been one to live dangerously laughs and grabs it with lightening speed and pops it into his mouth with a triumphant smile. "You talk too much," he wipes his mouth with a napkin and twirls the rest of his noodles around his spoon.
"I hate you."
"I want ice cream," Changmin murmurs looking through dessert shop windows. "Oh, cake," he points and grabs Yoochun's arm pulling him close to see.
"That looks delicious," he admits and Changmin thinks about it.
He shakes his head, "No, I want ice cream," he decides and they walk in search of an ice cream shop.
After about fifteen minutes of walking around and an almost empty cup of chocolate and strawberry ice cream Changmin notices they're being followed.
He spotted them when they were coming out of the restaurant but figured they'd take their pictures and then leave them alone. When they walked in for dessert he saw them crowded around in a circle a few shops down; Yoochun started heading in their direction and he was sure they probably wet themselves with excitement but Changmin pulled him back and they walked off in the opposite direction.
If there's one thing he could change, it would be the lack of privacy he has to deal with. Sometimes it's not so bad, most fans are nice and don't ask for much, but then there are some who stalk like prey, those, he could live without. And it's those kind he fears are following them now.
"Good choice," Yoochun finishes up his ice cream and throws it away in an open trash bin on the side of a street. "Now what?" he shoves his hands into his pockets and looks at Changmin who seems to look bothered because he frowns and starts looking around. "What?"
Changmin throws his cup away too, hopes they aren't sick enough to go fishing after it once they've gone, and pulls Yoochun a little closer.
"Fans at three o'clock," he leans in and whispers, keeping his eyes on them, watching them pretend, watching them act like they don't have secret desires of ripping their clothes off and having their way with them. It kind of makes him a little sick, Yoochun moves and Changmin tugs his arm roughly.
"Ow," he crows and elbows him back which Changmin brushes off.
"Don't look!" he whines because Yoochun is making it so obvious.
Yoochun ignores him and looks in the wrong direction. "I don't see anyone."
Sometimes Changmin thinks he's the only intelligent person in the whole goddamn world, but more specifically the whole goddamn group. "I said three o'clock, you idiot, not nine," he shushes his own voice as his irritation seems to get the better of him. "The other direction," he mutters and this time Yoochun does this weird stretch thing that probably brings even more attention to them but at least he sees them this time.
"God. Just stop please," he covers his eyes and shakes his head in embarrassment.
Yoochun laughs, "Relax, they're not doing anything. Come on, let's do some shopping." And with that he begins to walk off without him.
Changmin gaps for a moment and catches up with him. "They've been following us for the last twenty minutes now," he informs Yoochun who stops and looks behind him, they've moved closer.
The girls turn around immediately trying not to get caught, looking and pointing to whatever is in the window they're standing in front of.
"Have they?" he asks and Changmin nods.
"You ready to play hide and seek?" he asks suddenly, glancing over his shoulder. They've advanced even closer, maybe less than twenty feet away now.
Yoochun follows his gaze and a mixture of disappointment and excitement fight against his features. The girls keep looking over and go back to talking to each other as the two of them continue to stare.
"The store at the corner," Changmin mumbles and Yoochun grins slowly. "On the count of three."
He nods, ready to have some fun. "One," Yoochun turns away pulling his pants up.
"Two," Changmin makes sure Yunho's cap is on properly.
"Three," they say together glancing once more behind them before sprinting off down the street.
There's something rather exhilarating about it and Changmin can't help but laugh when he hears the blood curdling scream coming from behind them and it feels like he's running for his life.
As they're running, trying to avoid colliding with unsuspecting people and dodging the likes of bicycles and small animals Changmin looks over his shoulder and is not surprise the girls have started running after them too.
"Red light!" Yoochun yells and pulls him back just in time before getting hit by a scooter.
Changmin huffs in gratitude. "Change of plans," he points to the store a few feet away, "there," he nods his head and as the screams and calls of the girls get too close they dash into the store.
Yoochun grabs the back of his shirt and Changmin follows him through a maze of clothing. "God, you're so tall," Yoochun complains as they hear the annoying buzz of new customers ringing through the store. He knows they've followed them but despite the annoyance, he feels a rush of excitement he hasn't felt in a very long time. He ducks behind a clothing rack and Yoochun disappears inside one a few feet away.
Changmin spots the group of girls moving like sheep, scanning with trained eyes. He thinks they're a little too scary and hunches as he walks carefully without making noise. Yoochun's hand shoots out and pulls him into the tiny space holding his finger to his mouth in warning. Changmin nods and spreads the clothing apart to peek through. When he sees the flash of a phone and a pink mini skirt walk by, chills run down his spin, she's so close, and he gasps and pulls back, covers Yoochun's mouth when he starts to laugh.
"Shut up," he whispers harshly which only makes him laugh harder.
They wait for a few seconds before Changmin ventures to look out again. The coast is clear.
But as they're about to step out two pairs of delicate hands sweep open the clothing like a set of curtains and Yoochun and Changmin look up horrified they've been discovered and will be kidnapped and taken to some dark cave where they'll be used for unfathomable rituals.
Luckily, it's not a fan and they let out the air from their lungs in relief.
"Excuse me," the sales girl says nicely but isn't smiling and soon Changmin feels himself falling backwards, Yoochun's arms around him as they land roughly against the floor in a terrible thud.
"Ow," Yoochun groans but Changmin freezes because not too far he sees two girls frozen, watching them. It only takes a second before they scream like banshees and start for them.
"I'm sorry," Changmin scrambles to his feet several shades of embarrassment and hauls Yoochun up who's apologizing profusely through his laughter.
They manage to get out unscathed but it doesn't take long before the girls are on their tail again and they're zipping through crowded street.
They run a couple of blocks before Yoochun starts start coughing and making terrible breathing sounds.
"Water," Yoochun wheezes painfully, reaching for Changmin's shirt. "I can't breathe," he yells and stops a few feet behind him.
Changmin comes to an abrupt standstill, Yoochun looks like he's ready to die but then a loud screech followed by his name rings like an alarm and Changmin watches in amazement as Yoochun passes him in a colorful blur and he starts running again.
"My god, they're like robots," he cries out as their feet pound against the cement and he's starting to sweat, stumbling a little when a little girl who looks completely petrified freezes right in front of him and he has to turn sharply to avoid her.
Yoochun points ahead of them, "Let's go in there," he says and Changmin see's it’s a bar and nods.
They run faster until they reach the front door where Changmin catches the girls rushing at them like American football players and he shoves Yoochun in.
They ask for a table away from the main view and the waitress smiles sweetly at them while she takes their orders, even though Yoochun's face is dripping with sweat and Changmin is almost certain his cheeks are the color of beets and they're breathing so loud everyone within ear shot can hear them.
Yoochun wants a glass of water and a beer, Changmin asks for a soda and a shot of Soju. It's probably too early to be drinking but with a gaggle of super human fangirls chasing them through the streets of Seoul, he thinks he's pretty deserving of it.
Changmin watches as she giggles helplessly with another waitress who keeps pointing and staring at them.
And he thought they left the fangirls outside. Though it doesn't take long before he notices a few of them walk by, locking eyes with him on their way to what he can only assume is the bathroom.
"Fuck, some of them are old enough to be in here," he mutters and his head falls over tiredly. He's so tired and he can't breathe fast enough to calm the racing of his heart.
He watches as Yoochun pulls out his inhaler and takes a couple deep breaths.
"Shit, I forgot about that," he apologizes and Yoochun smiles nicely waving his hand.
"It's not so bad," he puts it away and takes a very very long drink from his water. Changmin watches as his chest pumps up and down as he breathes and his Adams apple bobs while he drinks. He lets out a loud sigh of gratification when he's done and sets the almost empty glass down.
He's not looking too flushed anymore.
"Nice day for an adventure right?" Yoochun grins and Changmin laughs wearily draining the shot in one quick swoop.
"Don't drink so fast, you'll make yourself sick," he warns and Changmin nods.
The waitress comes back after a few more minutes and asks if they need anything else. Changmin asks for water and Yoochun wants a refill.
When she comes back three more times within a half hour Changmin glares at her and Yoochun smiles sweetly telling her they don't need anything else.
"We should go," Changmin mutters, sipping at Yoochun's warm beer.
He nods and looks around him. "You think they have a back exit?"
And Changmin likes where his mind is going.
Outside Changmin sticks his head out into the ally and looks around. He can see cars zooming by and people walking, talking on their phones, to each other, yelling at traffic. It looks safe.
"Come on," he waves and Yoochun holds onto his shirt carefully as they walk down the ally with caution.
When they get to the main road he looks over. The group of girls are mingling around talking to each other with large waves of their hands but not in their direction. They have a good thirty feet of sidewalk between them and Changmin can see a large collection of people walking right at them.
"Ok, when the group gets close enough we'll weave through it and hopefully they won't notice," he conspires and Yoochun nods.
As they wait they take the time to clean their sunglasses adjust their head gear and breathe in all the air they can to prepare themselves for a marathon.
The group of pedestrians moves in closer but before they can make it through he hears a loud battle cry and looks over.
They've been spotted.
"Shit! Run, Yoochun!" he calls out and grabs his hand throwing him into the hoard of unsuspecting people.
Some of them yell and look at them in disgust but Changmin doesn't care as they maneuver themselves through the crowd pretty efficiently despite the amount.
When they break free and it's clear they both sprint down the street and turn a corner. Soon after he looks over his shoulder and the fans are pointing and yelling.
"Well, we've definitely got the most tenacious fans," Yoochun laughs and splits through an unsuspecting couple.
Changmin doesn't have time to do anything when he sees a looming cluster of people at a stand still, and they're headed right towards them.
"Shit," he huffs and slows down before he collides with them with devastating results.
Yoochun looks over his shoulder, the girls are gaining speed.
"Damn, don't they get tired? I can hardly breathe!"
Changmin snorts and grabs Yoochun's hand firmly. "Come on, we've got to break through, it will slow them down," and starts pushing through the dense mob.
After a few seconds he sees a break and Yoochun starts running only to stop quite abruptly with a horrified look on his face.
"What!?" Changmin cries until he sees the cameras. And a few familiar faces.
He thinks one could be Lee Min Ho.
"Holy shit," Yoochun whispers in terror and when a scream so loud that leaves them deaf explodes amongst the crowds of people, he looks at Changmin. "They're filming a drama," he shakes a little and Changmin thinks he may possibly faint.
Until he sees their stalkers breaking through the mob pointing and running at them with full speed.
"We've gotta go," Changmin pushes Yoochun and looks at the actor's baffled expressions, trying his best to remember who they are so he can send them the largest apology bouquet he can afford. "Move," he shoves the statue Yoochun's become roughly and he ignores the cameras that start focusing on him and Yoochun.
He prays it doesn't get on television or worse the internet. But a terrible clench of his stomach reminds him they were standing like idiots for a long time, there is absolutely no way they're getting out of it.
"They're going to kill us," Yoochun runs, breathing roughly.
"Only if they catch us," Changmin pulls him aside before an old woman, hauling a wagon, comes barreling into him.
Yoochun shakes his head and he looks a little green with sickness. "Not them, I'm talking about Yunho and Jaejoong. They're going to kill us," he slows a little for the red light, bending at the waist, his hands on his knees to catch his breath.
Changmin worries they'll get too close if they wait much longer. "Who's to say they'll see it?" he looks both ways and leads Yoochun through the intersection at a slow pace so they can catch their breath.
Yoochun glares at him.
"We'll deal with it when it happens," he consoles and looks around. "Come on, this way, maybe we'll lose them in the market."
"Oh, fishcakes," Changmin points and Yoochun slows down.
"Are you crazy?" he hits him, there's a dark ring of sweat around his collar, they don't know how long they've been running but they haven't seen the girls in a long time.
He thinks he may collapse soon and all the food they had earlier has wasted away and his stomach is angry with him. "Come on, it's on a stick. If we have too, we can eat and run."
Yoochun rolls his eyes. "I don't think that's a good idea," he slaps his back and leaves an imprint. "We're disgusting," he smells himself and it's mixed with sweat and his cologne.
"Come on, they're not around. Let's get some food. Maybe we lost them," he hopes and for a brief moment he thinks it could all be over.
Yoochun pays for five fishcakes and they find a place to sit where the sun isn't beating down on them and they can relax for a bit.
Changmin finishes his quickly and begs some off of Yoochun.
"Aren't you glad I called you?" Changmin tries to lighten the mood but Yoochun's eyes narrow behind his sunglasses, "well, if anything, this is all your fault."
"M-my fault?" Yoochun stutters and Changmin nods drinking from his cold tea.
"I just wanted take out, you insisted we go out. Therefore," he drinks some more until it runs along his mouth and down his chin, "It's pretty much your fault," he hands it over and for a second thinks Yoochun may dump the rest of the drink over his head.
"You little shit, if I wasn't so fucking dehydrated, I'd throw this in your face."
Changmin has a pretty good feeling he's telling the truth. He uses the end of his shirt to wipe the sweat off his brow and the back of his hand to clean up the trails of ice tea on his face. Yoochun takes off his sunglasses squinting into the sunlight to clean his dusty glasses and removes his beanie.
"This is gross," he mutters running his hands through his hair and wishes he had something to pull it back.
They're about to leave when they see a hesitant girl and her mother approaching them.
"I’m so sorry," she bows a little too nervously while the girl looks on with stars in her eyes. "But she loves you and…" her voice seems to fail as she extends a paper and pen towards them.
Changmin thinks these are his favorite kind of fans, timid and shy and not expecting too much.
Both of them scribble their autographs and ask her name. Her voice is sweet and delicate when she speaks and Yoochun gives her a quick hug before her mother starts shooing her away, thanking them profusely as they disappear back into the crowds of the market.
Yoochun is still smiling, soaking in the sun when Changmin spots a familiar face, phone pressed against her ear, eyes searching the crowd.
His stomach churns with dread.
"Ah, fuck," he groans and jumps to his feet.
It's only a second before the girl screams and everyone within a good fifty feet around them looks at her while she jumps up and down like a maniac and it's half a second before more start joining in and rush them like cattle.
"Run, Changmin," Yoochun spouts taking a firm grasp on his wrist and darting through the busy market.
Changmin thinks if this were a movie they'd be jumping off of rooftops like super heroes in their miraculous escape. But they're not in a movie and this is real life and Yoochun trips and falls ungracefully in the middle of the street.
"You ok?" Changmin helps him up and Yoochun nods with a grimace.
"Come on," he starts running again with no visible pain and Changmin thinks maybe Yoochun is a superhero.
Changmin doesn't know how long they've been running, but it feels it's been hours and like there's a thorn stabbing right into his side and like he may pass out. When he looks over his shoulder Yoochun's behind him until he's not anymore and Changmin comes to an abrupt stop.
"My shoe!" he can hear Yoochun scream and Changmin finds him bending down, he runs to him and hooks his hand around his elbow rushing him away.
"Leave it," he breathes heavily, "maybe they'll find it and leave us alone," Changmin laughs and soon they're running through the hordes of nameless faces again, every once in a while people will look at them and sometimes a sweep of recognition creeps over but they're too far gone in haste to do or say anything.
"Ow, glass!" Yoochun wails after a good few minutes and Changmin stops, Yoochun runs into his back and groans in impact.
"On my back," Changmin lowers himself and waits for Yoochun to climb on quickly, he glances behind them and soon the loud screams seem to be coming closer and closer and he can see the group of girls breaking through the crowds pointing with their phones and cameras already out. "Shit, they're gaining on us," he holds Yoochun's legs firmly and takes off again.
"Look, there's a park coming up, go in there," Yoochun points out, his other arm tight around Changmin's neck.
"Ease up, will you?" Changmin huffs with exertion, he doesn't honestly know if he'll even be able to make it to the park now that he's added a person on top of him. He weaves easily through the sidewalks with the help of years of dancing and trying to avoid knocking into, sometimes, ten people on the same stage.
"Good, you're losing them," Yoochun tells him with a valiant glee, "Shit, Changmin, dogs!" he warns and Changmin jumps over a tiny terrier going to the bathroom who barks at him. Yoochun turns on his back, "Sorry!" he yells to the pretty owner who looks on aghast and laughs, squeezing his legs tighter around Changmin's midsection.
By the time they reach the park Changmin thinks he may collapse, his knees are throbbing painfully, his legs feel like jelly and his lungs want to explode.
"There's a playground over there, if you run maybe we can hide in the jungle gym thingie," Yoochun advises and turns to see what kind of time they're working with. No sign of fan girls.
Changmin hoists him up with a groan and he starts running again. Changmin knows people are staring at them, how many they can't count but he also knows even more people are staring now that he's got another person on his back and he's running like he's got the police on his tail.
"Ugh, get off," Changmin falls into a squat the moment they step onto the soft sand of the playground where plenty of kids have watched their arrival. Yoochun laughs and drags him towards the colorful plastic world of childhood fun and they crawl through holes shaped like triangles and circles. Yoochun settles against a yellow opaque bubble while Changmin lays inside a covered slide, too long for anything else. He gulps down mouthfuls of air like he can't get enough into his lungs and rests his head over his crossed arms.
"I want to die," he mumbles and Yoochun laughs as he keeps watch through the cracks; when he sees familiar faces he leans over and covers Changmin's mouth.
"Shhh, they're close," he whispers and Changmin rises to his elbows looking in the direction Yoochun's pointing. Some of them are coming closer and closer and after a few seconds Yoochun waves at Changmin. "Make some space," he rushes and Changmin grunts as knees and elbows poke and prod until Yoochun settles himself uncomfortably beside him in the, too small for two people, tube. His hand is on Changmin's mouth and they watch the reflection from the bubble as a girl looks right through the now empty space once occupied with Yoochun. When she sees no one's there she leaves.
Yoochun pulls himself half way out, then soon completely as he waves at Changmin. "They're leaving," he mouths and Changmin takes a look. He can see their backs moving further and further away. When they're practically gone he lets out a long awaited rush of air and closes his eyes.
"And all I wanted was food," he grumbles.
Yoochun snorts as he examines his foot. It wasn't glass, but a piece of plastic and it didn't break his skin which he was pretty grateful for. "Unless you plan to carry me all the way back, I need to get some new shoes," he sticks his foot right into Changmin's face and Changmin slaps it away.
"That's not very nice, Changmin," Yoochun grins coyly and he hasn't a chance to think much on it when the same foot shoves him through the slide and he's landing ass to the sand in the middle of children looking that him like he's a monster.
Changmin can hear Yoochun's cackle and after a few moments Yoochun comes sliding through, trying to stop himself when he realizes with horror Changmin hasn't moved and they collide into a painful pile.
All the kids think it's amusing, pointing and laughing at them and some mothers do too but both of them are hurting and Changmin can hear his bones cracking as he stands up wiping sand off his butt. Yoochun pulls the beanie off and shakes his dark hair with a laugh.
"Are we in the clear?" he asks and Changmin scans the area. If they're around, he doesn't see them and together they trudge through the sand onto the grass beside a big looming tree and lay down for a moment to just relax and catch their breath.
"This is fun," Yoochun says after awhile, smiling into the shade of the leaves and breathing in the cool wind. His hair moves with the breeze and Changmin plays with it for a few moments before he allows himself to just melt into the ground to give his aching bones a rest.
Changmin thinks they've been asleep for several hours by the darkening of the sky. When he cracks his eyes open his back feels sore and Yoochun is snoring softly on his chest. He lifts his head and looks around. People are walking along aimlessly, the kids have been traded for new faces and there's no screaming girls pointing and running at them. He stretches a little and settles back down, closing his eyes.
"We should probably go," Yoochun shifts and after awhile he moves away, Changmin smiles when he sees leaves weaved through his hair and pulls them out at he sits up.
"It looks like it's getting late," he looks at his phone and he has several missed calls.
Changmin gets to his feet first and bends, rotating at the waist, carefully, with a wince. He helps Yoochun up to his feet and they start walking slowly until they get to the cement and Changmin hauls him onto his back once again until they get to the main road.
They take a taxi back to the restaurant, when they get to the car Yoochun laughs and Changmin looks up curiously. His shoe is sitting on the roof and Changmin laughs out loud as he slides it back on. They're still smiling as they settle into the car in silence.
There is still a group of girls, some the same, more that are different that loiter around the apartment when they pull into the parking garage. He watches them and some of them look over, when they start to wave, he waves back.
They walk slowly, exhausted, and in the elevator Yoochun smoothes a hand down his face. "You've got grass wrinkles," he mummers softly and Changmin yawns just in time as the doors open down their floor.
"You going to come in?" he asks pulling his keys from his pocket. Yoochun nods, scratching his shoulder as the door opens.
"Thank god, I've been calling and calling!" Jaejoong appears out of nowhere glaring at them with a spoon in his hand. "Where the fuck have you been?" he demands and Changmin stops Yoochun before he walks through. For a moment he considers walking back out, he'd face the fangirls instead of an angry Jaejoong.
"Calm down," Yoochun brushes the threatening spoon away and walks to the couch, he slinks down beside Yunho who smiles nicely at him. "We were out, having fun," he answers and looks at Changmin who can't help the grin on his face.
"What were you doing?" Yunho asks curiously when Jaejoong walks back into the kitchen, hoping his food isn't burning.
"Eating, relaxing, you know," Changmin shrugs, "the usual."
He and Yoochun look at each other then laugh and laugh even more so when Yunho looks confused.
"Jaejoong, Yunho!" Junsu comes barreling out from the hall, "Manager Hyung called and said Yoochun and Changmin were on the news!" he comes to a speeding halt when he sees Yoochun and Changmin are home.
A loud clatter comes from the kitchen and Yunho turns to them. Before he has time to say anything Yoochun jumps to his feet and reaches for Changmin with a scathingly brilliant idea.
Changmin gets to his feet in excitement.
"Yoochun," Yunho warns and Changmin laughs shoving Yoochun to the door quickly.
"We're going out," he tells him stifling his laughter.
"Wait! Changmin, Yoochun!" Jaejoong calls but they're already out the door and running down the hallway cackling.
When Yoochun's speeding down the street and both their phones are exploding with matching ringtones, Changmin leans over and kisses Yoochun's cheek who smiles delicately.
"What was that for?" he asks, not taking his eyes off the road.
Changmin settles into his seat comfortably. "I haven't had this much fun in years," he admits and Yoochun turns to him, grabbing his hand.
"Wanna go to the beach?" he asks as the sun starts setting in the horizon.
Changmin nods eagerly and looks out the window. "And the fangirls?" he wonders.
Yoochun grins sinisterly, stepping on the gas, "If we have too, we'll throw them in the ocean and run away."
Changmin laughs loudly.
It sounds like a plan.
